This site grows out of nearly twenty years of conversations. It’s been about that long since I chose to leave the fundamentalist church in which I had been born and raised–the Seventh-day Adventist church in my case. That’s good to know as you’re reading my posts, because some of the more arcane bits of religious lore only really make sense in that context, but an Adventist background is in no way necessary to understand and comment upon the issues this blog has been designed to address.
I’ve started this blog to create a place where we former fundamentalists can share our experiences both as fundamentalists, and in our afterlives. So go put on your jammies, grab a cup of coffee, turn on the lamp, cue up the CD player, wrap up in a fuzzy blanket, and let’s talk. What was it like for you? Why did you leave? How did you do it?
